As
summer’s heat and humidity persists, consider the following products, which are
perfect for après sun and water, and what ever else the season might have in
store for you. Enjoy!
~ Products for Face, Body and Hair ~
Ilike
Organic Skin Care Carotene Essentials Rich Moisturizer ~ This
beautiful new all-natural and organic cruelty-free product not only delivers
restorative hydration, but Carotene
Essentials Rich Moisturizer also delivers immediate and visible luminosity
to the skin. The creamy texture provides
ideal protection and restoration après sun and water. Key ingredients include Sorb Apple, Carrot, Cantaloupe, Calendula, Corn Germ Oil, Carotene
(Provitamin A), and Vitamins A, B, C, E and K. I loved how the
improvement to my skin had a cumulative affect; levels of hydration were
maintained throughout the day, fine lines and wrinkles were diminished, and my
skin appeared healthy and glowing; the product absorbed quickly without leaving
any residue. http://www.szepelet.com
Jane
Iredale Golden Shimmer Face and Body Lotion and LipDrink Lip Balm, Blush ~ What better way to celebrate the
summer season than to have glowing skin and luscious lips? A favorite mineral makeup line for many, Jane Iredale celebrates the season with
her Golden Shimmer Face and Body Lotion,
which imparts shimmer and hydration to all skin tones. Key ingredients include botanical Extracts, Jojoba
Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, and Aloe.
Ideal for face and body, this product adds just the right amount of
warming glow to leave skin looking radiant, while restoring hydration levels
and smoothing the appearance of skin. I loved how this left my face with just
the right amount of glow on my cheeks and eyelids. Another “ode” to summer includes her new
colors for LipDrink Lip Balm in Buff and Crush. Key ingredients
include, an SPF 15, Botanical Extracts, Avocado
Oil, Castor Oil, Green Tea Extract, and Lemon Peel Oil. I used the new color Crush, a luscious berry color; my lips were color-primed, drenched
in moisturizer, and protected from the sun.

Peter
Coppola Legacy Keratin Concept ~ Peter Coppola is regarded as
the “Godfather of Keratin”, and has developed the first consumer-based Keratin Smoothing Treatment product
line that’s free of formaldehyde and aldehyde, and formulated with restorative Keratin and anti-aging Ceramide. Prior to this new line, if a person wanted a Keratin treatment, they’d have to go to
a salon. The new product line, suitable
for all hair types, restores shine, while improving texture, smoothness, and
volume. The line includes Shampoo, Conditioner, Anti-Frizz
Cream, Blow Out Spray, and Hairspray.
I have fine, oily, fairly straight hair that’s all naturally gray; I
also don’t use any conditioner or styling products. I tried the Shampoo for nearly two weeks and found that it weighted my hair
down and left it limp. Based on my
experience, hair type and texture, I feel these products are better suited for
those with hair that’s frizzy or curly, permed or colored, and damaged,
over-processed or over-styled. These
products are available at qualified salons that feature Peter Coppola treatments and products. https://www.petercoppola.com
Rituals
Cosmetics Fortune Oil, Sweet Orange & Cedar Wood Nourishing Shower Oil ~ This is
the perfect product for the shower.
Those who spend a bit too much time outdoors will especially enjoy this après sun and water. Not only did it gently cleanse, but it also
left my skin feeling silky, while imparting a lovely subtle aroma. Key ingredients include Orange and Cedarwood Oil, and Soy and Castor Oil. Gently cleansed my skin, while leaving it silky
smooth and hydrated, without feeling greasy or tacky; the beautiful aroma was
subtle and uplifting. https://us.rituals.com/en-us/home
SoapBox
Lotions Bataua Fruit Sensitive Rejuvenation, Coconut Intense Hydration, and
Argan Nourishing Moisture ~ These lotions hydrate beautifully
with restorative ingredients like Aloe
Vera, Vitamin E, Olive Fruit Oil and Shea Butter. In addition to these restorative ingredients,
the individual blends I tried also included Bataua
Fruit Oil, Coconut Oil, and Argan Oil, respectively. The Bataua
Fruit Oil has a fresh-picked fruity aroma; the Coconut Oil has a just-cracked coconut aroma; and, the Argan Oil has a subtle fresh aroma. This company’s mission is to provide a
month’s supply of clean water to a community (in cooperation with their partner
Splash). Each bottle of lotion has a “Hope Code” on it and consumers can go
to the website and enter the code to see where their purchase donation went to further
the cause for clean water. https://www.soapboxsoaps.com
~ Oral Care ~
ClōSys Oral
Care ~ Just what your mouth has been hoping for…an oral care line
that’s pH balanced and free of sulfates,
triclosan and alcohol; it’s also ideal for sensitive teeth. The line takes care of all the oral care
needs with Toothpaste (fluoride and non-fluoride),
Oral Rinse, Oral Spray, Brushes, and Tongue Cleaner. While I enjoyed using the products, especially
the Toothpaste, my acute sense of
smell detected the faint aroma of chlorine
in the Oral Rinse; Stabilized Chlorine Dioxide is one of
the ingredients in the Oral Rinse. For those always on-the-go, there’s a handy Trial Size Kit, which includes Toothpaste, Oral Rinse, Oral Drops, and Oral
Spray; all sizes are TSA-compliant.

Take
care of yourself during this time when summer’s sun and over-exposure can
damage the fragile skin. Keep hydrated,
wear sunscreen, and consider wearing a nice wide-brimmed sun hat. The hat will provide added protection from
harmful rays, while also making a fashion statement. And, as a reminder…
STAY
HYDRATED ~ Water is best, plain or infused with fruits or veggies is next best.
BE
SUN-SMART, SUN-SAFE ~ Avoid the sun as much as possible, and use products that
protect.
LIGHTEN UP
~ Food choices, color palette, fragrance, and skin, body, and hair care
products.
That’s
it for this edition. Until the next one,
remember to take care of yourself and those you love.
