SUMMER FORWARD ~ PART THREE

(Image from www.homestratosphere.com)
In a blink of an eye, Spring disappeared into faded memory, while Summer kicked into high gear with its daily bouts of crystal blue skies, warm to steamy hot temperatures, bright and cheery sunshine, balmy breezes, and all-things outdoors; but alas, it too is also beginning to fade, and faint teases of Fall are creeping in with slightly chilly evenings.

As we continue transitioning from one season to another, finding new product discoveries to make that transition all the more enjoyable is what this latest edition is all about.  My latest finds are sure to please, and include a round-up of products from Guinot Institut Paris for face and body that are perfect for Summer, but also for the upcoming seasonal transitioning of Fall into Winter.  Enjoy!

~ For the Face ~

Instant Cleansing Water
I’m not lazy, but I do love shortcuts in my skincare regimen.  I’ve always preferred a simpler approach to cleansing, like Instant Cleansing Water, versus having to use a separate cleansing lotion or cream, removing the product, and then applying toner.  This Cleansing Water does double duty by cleansing and toning effortlessly.  This product gave me hassle-free cleansing and toning that left my skin scrupulously skin, and wasn’t left feeling dry; my skin wasn’t taught, and was subtly hydrated.  This terrific product doesn’t have any soap, alcohol, or parabens in its formulation, which makes the product very gentle and non-irritating for my finicky skin; another secret behind this product is that the formulation contains the gentle water lily blub extract, which is a natural moisturizer that also calms skin, much the same as an anti-inflammatory would; it also controls oil production.

Hydra Beauty Mist
Nothing refreshes an overheated flushed face from Summer’s grip than a cooling and calming spritz or two (or more) of a product like this must-have Hydra Beauty Mist.  Not only did it calm and soothe, it also infused the skin with healthy ingredients like green tea extract, hyaluronic acid, copper, and magnesium, zincMy Tip:  Try chilling the Mist for an added cooling affect on those dreadfully hot and humid days, or when a hot flash zaps you; perfect as a take-with product, too.

Hydrazone Day and Night Fluid Cream
I fell in love with the serum-like consistency of this light, yet very effective moisturizer.  It’s concentrated, so very little is needed to drench the face and neck with intense hydration.  The Fluid Cream was gentle and absorbed quickly, without leaving any tacky or greasy residue; hydration levels were effectively maintained throughout the day; my skin appeared fresher, healthier, and brighter.  Some of the key ingredients include Vitamin E, glycerin, lecithin, and zinc.

~ For the Body ~

Energising Scented Body Water
This is another beautiful product that delivered a veil of hydration while adding a subtle amount of fragrance.  The Body Water reminded me of a dry oil when first applied; it was quickly absorbed without leaving any tacky or greasy residue; texture of skin was silkier and appeared healthier.  Key ingredients include Vitamin E, castor oil, ginseng, blackcurrant, orange, bergamot, jasmine petals, rose water, orange blossom, and musk.

La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water ~ This Spring Water is a great way to rehydrate and refresh the face and neck areas throughout the day, especially when heat and humidity assault delicate skin.  The only ingredient in this product is Selenium-rich Pure Water; Selenium is a natural mineral and antioxidant.  My Tip: Chill the container in the refrigerator before using; when you need a refreshing pick-me-up, spritz away next time you’re uncomfortably warm or hot; great minimizing “hot flashes”.  For more information, visit http://www.laroche-posay.us

Models Own Sculpt & Glow Highlighter Stick in Moonlight and Barely There Eyeshadow Palette~ Whether it’s the color of the clothes you wear, or the colors of your makeup, Summer requires a gentler, softer approach, with a muted and subdued color palette.  Both the Highlighter Stick and Eyeshadow Palette are the perfect Summer makeup colors for the au natural look, or to subtly accentuate a beautiful tan.  The Highlighter Stick gave the perfect hint of shimmer to checks, eyes, or décolletage, while imparting a soft amount of hydration.  Key ingredients include Rosa Canina Oil, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Grape Vine Oil, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Aloe Leaf Extract, and Coconut Oil.  The Eyeshadow Palette contains five matte and five shimmer neutral colors with a range of pink, peach, beige, and brown.  These colors are great alone, or mixed to customize for your own stylized signature Summer look.  For that perfect Summer look, use an all-over color on the eyelid, with a contrasting color in the crease, and finish off using a sweep of the Highlighter Stick on the eyelid.  For more information, visit https://www.modelsownit.com

~ Spa and Wellness ~

(Image from www.thefogmunnar.com)
In the industry, aspects of Spa and Wellness continue to trend as integral to our daily lives.  Depending on where you go, or whom you follow, or what you hear, not all content, practitioners, or properties are the same, and it can get confusing, often leading to disinterest, disappointment, and dissatisfaction.  Too often, more is promised or inferred, than what is actually delivered or experienced.  The challenges in these industry segments is how to meaningfully present relevant components of what goes beyond the touchy-feely, to that which can be adapted to and incorporated into one’s lifestyle and health management.  Those relevancies also lead to better healthcare on a personal and professional level.

~ Biostation ~

Biostation is a concept whose time has come in redefining integrative healthcare on a level that is easily and readily accessible in wellness centers, spas, and health and fitness clubs.  As our population ages, so too are the unique health needs of the vibrant “Baby Boomer” segment of the population, which is one of Biostation’s specializations.  And as more and more individuals seek better ways to enhance and extend their lives, they are seeking alternative spaces to acquire those services, beyond the often impersonal and sterile environments of physician care offices, and outpatient medical facilities.  The Biostation mission is focused on healthy-aging, and finding better solutions to optimize that goal for the patient.  Their approach in assessing and treating the patient is incremental in order to fully appreciate the person as a whole, and as a unique individual.  Biostation’s founders include Dr. Martin G. Bloom, Ross Bloom, and Keith Foulis.  The entire Biostation team is comprised of highly skilled medical professionals that include physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, clinical specialists, esthetic experts, patient advocates, an extensive support staff, and operational administration.   Each Biostation location will be customized to address the scope of needs of guest patients, and will be overseen by a qualified medical physician, along with appropriate medically qualified support staff.  Biostation guest patients will have such areas addressed as nutrition, weight-loss, hormones, supplements, prescriptions and aesthetics.  Treatments and services offered will also include blood panel analysis and specialty testing; individual patient support and monitoring; a minimum of a one-hour physical consultation; bio-identical hormone therapy’ IV and nutrient hormone therapy programs; medical esthetics services; and, men’s and women’s sexual health programs.  Lastly, a guiding industry force allied with Biostation as a lead consultant will be Debra Koerner, noted spa and wellness expert, author and PBS program host of Journey Into Wellbeing® , and Senior Moments.  With the strength of Biostation and Debra Koerner, this wellness concept, whose time has come, will be a win-win for its guest recipients.  For more information, visit http://thebiostation.com  For more information, visit http://journeyintowellbeing.com/2017/05/29/debra-k-and-the-biostation-partner-to-improve-our-nations-health/
